I know there are a zillion baby name sites - I am hoping to find one that can give me different derivations of Ann. We are thinking of using family names for the baby's name. Many family members on my side are Ann/Anne and my husband has lots of Kathryn's. Because I have so many Katherine cousins, we're pretty sure that Kathryn will be the middle name. I'm not sure that I want to go with just "Anne" for the first name. I'm trying to come up with different derivations of Ann.

Anyone wanna throw out ideas or good sites?

Thanks!

Inanna: (from Wikipedia) Sumerian goddess of sexual love, fertility, and warfare. Alternative Sumerian names include:
Innin, Ennin, Ninnin, Ninni, Ninanna, Ninnar, Innina, Ennina, Irnina, Innini, Nana and Nin, commonly derived from an earlier Nin-ana "lady of the sky", although Gelb (1960) presented the suggestion that the oldest form is Innin (DINNIN) and that Ninni, Nin-anna and Irnina are independent goddesses in origin

I always liked the name Anna, although the nickname Anna-banana seems to stick like glue to the Annas I've known. Annabelle is pretty too.

I love Anna Katherine. So pretty and mellifluous.

I'm a big fan of the writer Anais Nin also, so I like the name Anais, which is a Hebrew derivation of Ana.

Aine pronounced "awn + ye". Ancient Irish name, means "splendor, radiance, brilliance." Aine is connected with fruitfulness and prosperity. Aine appears in folktales as "the best-hearted woman who ever lived – lucky in love and in money."
