I have gotten this pain before, with DS, but I feel like it was way later. I am just now starting to think about showing a little. and I'm 13w3d

Anyway, there is a stabbing pain in my left cheek like deeeep cheek. When I walk or move certain ways. I can abduct/adduct with no issues, but front/back sends a white hot pain that doubles me over.

I hear people talk about sciatica, but it doesn't go very far down my leg, it's really just in the cheek region. I can flex my foot, lift my leg off the chair etc. And "they" say only 1% of pregnant people get it.

I have seen a chiro before, but of course, it's a long weekend, and I don't even know if they can do pregnant ladies.

It could be piriformis syndrome. The sciatic nerve gets pinched in or under the muscle causing similar symptoms to sciatica but there is no nerve root involvement from the spinal cord. You can try stretching, massage, or ice. Google it. There is some good info out there.

Good luck.

You have a "pain in the butt" too?? I had it last pregnancy too, and here it is again. This time around I'm thinking of seeing a chiro about it. Last time I survived with monthly visits to the massage therapist. Also, this time so far it only hurts when I'm walking around whereas before it hurt even sitting down. Hope you find something to take away the pain and let me know if you do!!!

I am off to google piriformis syndrome. It's back again today. :( I was hoping sleep would help. I feel like it gets worse if I sit. but walking around makes it hurt too. So strange.

DH is threatening to take me to urgent care (since it's MLK day and drs are closed) if I get where I was yesterday. It took me 5 mins to stand up. I was on my feet, but couldn't get my trunk up, I would start then get the pain that would send me back over again. I sound like such an old lady!
