Nap Time Change at 2yrs?

Hi,

I just wanted to post and tell you that I can totally relate to how you are feeling right now with the change in napping. My 29 month old now wants to take a nap every morning around 10:00 AM and then again in the afternoon around 3:00 or 4:00 PM. He used to only take one nap a day around 1:00 PM too like yours.

I don't have any advice for you as I am going through the same thing but I wanted to let you know that you are not alone. Hopefully, you will get some better responses than mine.

my ds will turn 2 at the end of the month as well, and is doing the same thing! mon and tues he didn't nap; wed he napped easily at 11; thurs it was more around noon; and friday at 2:30. then he slept til 5; he is supposed to go to be for the night around 7:30 or 8!! hopefully someone will have some good advice for us. I am due with dd in 2 weeks and really really need him to nap; and easily!!
Hi!

My little dd will turn 2yrs at the end of the month. For the last week she has been sleepy mid-to late morning instead of after lunch (1pm nap time). Now, if she doesn't nap in the am, she won't nap until 3 or 4 pm. This is a problem of course b/c her bedtime is at 8pm and she needs about 3 hours of sleep during the day. Today she didn't nap at all! It is so sad to see a nap deprived child!

Anyway, I am guessing that this is another transitional time for sleep and she just wants to sleep earlier. I would love to hear experiences of other toddler mums out there!

Hey! My Dd started doing this too! Naps anywhere between 11 and 12, otherwise she'll drop off at 1 and sleep for an hour, then be up till 9:30pm!

It makes it hard to schedule activities in the mid mornings.

I miss naptime. My dd has not napped since before Christmas. She has a mellow out time, where she'll sit and look at books, or wants to snuggle on the couch with me, but she won't sleep. And any nap at any time and she's up all night. But some days she could really use a nap and falls asleep at the dinner table or is so tired by bedtime that she can't settle down to go to sleep.

And I'm due the end of April. I really miss being able to put my own head down when she rests.
here's another thing about ds...he naps well for dh but not for me. unfortunately the only time dh can help with naps is on the weekends! ughh.
When my dd was about 15 months she transistioned to one nap (around 12:30-1pm). Then around 19 months she started falling asleep again in the morning around 10am. She's had a cold for the past couple of weeks and she's consistently been napping around 9-9:30am for about an hour and around 2pm for about an hour. She goes to bed around 7pm.

I did find that we went through a period where I would put her down for a nap at around 11am and she would sleep longer and better than if I waited until after lunch.

Thanks! That is helpful and encouraging.

I guess this is where I really need to be tuned into my dd and put aside what is not important!
