My DD turned one last month. She has been on a pretty rigid nap schedule forever. Up at 6 nap from 8-10 another nap 1-3 bedtime is 6.
We have had that routine for most of her life. She just fell into it and it worked. The past few days she hasnt wanted to nap. It hasnt been fun.
ANYWAY, my question is this:
When did you DC go from 2 naps to one nap?

Hi!

there have been a couple of recent threads about this...if you look back a few pages, you should find at least one.

My DD transitioned to one nap at 13 months. Around the same time she started walking and began napping on her own (nursing down and laying on the bed, instead of me holding her)....it got harder and harder to get her down for a morning nap...ended up being a 12-2ish nap instead of one from 10-11 and another from 2-3.

Right around 12 mo Ds had some naping difficulty. For a few weeks right around 12mo if we stayed out of the house he could skip the am nap but only for one day. The next day he really, really needed two again.

Now at 13.5 mo (yeah, 6 weeks later) we're right back to the 2 naps a day plan. If anything, his late afternoon nap has gotten later, but he just can't seem to make it past his need for a 9/9:30am nap.

Wow, I could have written this myself!

I would kind of prefer her to nap once, but, as I have learned, it is not up to me! Just goes to show you, these developmental things are not linear.

My ds was closer to 2yo when he went down to one nap a day.

My DS is 17 months old and is still at 2 naps, although I know other kiddos who have dropped one shortly after 12 months. You just have to watch your child's cues.

My son is up at 9 to bed at 7 and naps from 1-3. We've done this since he was about 9 months old. He's now 2 1/2. Whatever your babe needs!

Pretty early--maybe around 10/11 months or so? He's always been a terrible napper but it's been a bit easier (putting him down and taking longer naps) since he's just had one nap a day. He doesn't need much sleep, alas--up around 6 (though we doze/nurse until about 7:15), nap from ~1-~3, bed at 7:30/8.

DD takes one or two depending on the day. I don't schedule my kiddos much until they turn two (just my thing...not bashing your thing )

Ds1 gets up around 7:30-8:30, takes one long nap after he finishes his lunch around noon that lasts until 2:30-3:00, and goes to bed at 8:00. He dropped his morning nap around 9 months or so, though he'll usually ask to be tucked in for one if he's not feeling well.

I had to post because we had the exact same schedule as you for a long long time. At 11 months he switched to 1 nap and i must say its easier to plan the day and he takes a longer nap in the afternoon. its really nice once i figured out that's what he wanted! altho his bedtime seems to have gone from 6 to 7 or even 8 now. but i don't mind cuz he's so much fun and such a happy guy!

HTH.

I would be soooo happy with a nap a day!!!
I am lucky, she set her own schedule and has pretty much stuck to it!
