in anticipation of our new baby i have been thinking about how to manage getting either the new baby or my almost 3 year old down for a nap. currently my 34 month old nurses down for his afternoon nap - so what do you do with the baby?
curious,

DS was 2y9m and still nursing including down for naps/bed when DD was born. At that point I was letting him nap on the couch in the living room, so I would sit with him latched on on one side and DD on the other if she needed it at the same time. I was then able to slowly scoot away and leave him laying there after he was asleep or almost there. At night, he could go to sleep on his own after nursing, so I would side lie next to him and have her in my other arm and nurse them together. Then I could kiss him good night and finish up with her if she was not done. It is a little tricky at first, but then you figure it out and get a good groove going.
