I have a 2.5 yr old who has mostly phased out her afternoon nap. She gets grumpy in the afternoons when she doesn't nap. My husband only sees the grumpy toddler when he gets home from work.<img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/greensad.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="greensad"><br><br>
I've tried to have a relaxation time in which she can sleep or read whatever she wants to do, but I'm having problems implementing it. We go into my bedroom (where we all sleep) I usually tell her that we're both having relaxation time and I'm going to read and she can read or nap, but we both need to be quiet. It seems like I'm only a distraction because she'll start trying to get my attention by misbehaving. She won't stay in the room by herself. Any ideas? We've resorted to afternoon car trips so she'll fall asleep!

i agree! i need some help, too. maybe she is getting her 2 year molars (dd is 21 months) or a phase or wants to punish me for past lives, but she is driving me nuts with no sleep. screaming at night, middle of the night, refusing to nap. sigh. that and she has decided all food but cheese is anathama. why can't there be a magic pill or something? not for her...for me.
