Hey Nashville Mama's! I am going to be visiting Nashville from Portland in September and I am looking for some recommendations on a place to stay. Anything possible...including hotel, rental condo, campsite, your guestroom(just kidding..kind of)... Not looking to spend more than $60 or so a night. It will be me, my husband and our 11mo old son. There will also be lots of other people in town (we are going for my brothers wedding) so if anyone knows of a great house for rent or something we could get some other people to go in with us. Thanks ladies!
Excited to visit your town! And if anyone is ever in portland.....

Jacqui- Things are slow around here typically. Sorry about that! You may or may not know that we experienced some pretty serious flooding recently. I couldn't begin to recommend hotels because I'm not sure which are damaged/closed and which are open. I will say, I think regardless of how you go you are going to have difficulty finding a place for $60 a night inclusive. With our tax rate (no state income tax, just sales tax) plus the tax rate on lodging for $60 total you are probably looking at spending $45 a night for the base rate.

Okay, ready for more naysaying? I would avoid the north Nashville area- Dickerson Pike/Trinity Lane/Buena Vista. This is where I stayed my first visit to Nashville and the prostitution and crime in this area is pretty significant. Most other areas are okay.

You might try priceline. Do you know what area the wedding will be in? Nashville has many distinct areas- Brentwood, Hermitage, downtown, Vanderbilt/Hillsboro Village, Franklin, East Nashville and unless you were going to rent a car you might find traveling difficult. Nashville isn't really a walkable city so staying near the wedding area may be beneficial.

You might try posting an add on the Nashville Craig's List for a home to rent during that time. I'm not really sure how vacation home rental works here (if there is any available) and if it is affordable.

Best of luck! Feel free to PM me for more information!
