Hi - My sister is moving to Vegas rather suddenly and I'm trying to help her with some of the details. Can anyone recommend a good pediatrician? Thx!

Hello! I live about 45 minutes from Las Vegas and have been looking for the same since before my daughter was born. Unfortunately I don't have anyone to recommend. My baby is 11 months old and has been to 4 different peds and I still have not found one I am happy with. None have been open to an alternative vaccination schedule. I am so frustrated! I'm hoping someone can recommend a ped around Vegas or Henderson.

We see Dr. Daliah Wachs at Integrative Family Medicine on Durango & Tropicana, she is a family practice doctor, not a pediatrician. 702-562-8800. She is totally fine with delayed vax and no vax. I have also heard good things about a Dr. Mendoza, but I have no experience with him.

We go to Dr. Jim McGee at Sienna Pediatrics and love him! He doesn't mind delaying vaxing and in general doesn't have the god complex. He also understands when I beg him for flu shots with no thimerisol. His number is 702-248-7337.

The yahoo group has had lots of threads related to Peds. I don't personally take my daughter to the ped but there are lots of natural minded moms there that can help.

We see Dr.Mendoza when we need to, which has just been once.

We don't do well baby visits but he is open to no vaxing, home birth, and thinks all the AP stuff is pretty cool. I do not have his contact info as he just changed practices. You can find it at the yahoo group diva mama's though.

We just started seeing Dr Mendoza again. He's with Foothills pediatrics. He actually remembered us from well over a year ago, and remembered we didn't vax, asked why because he had forgot, but said it's fine with him. He told us what was recommended and asked what we wanted, so he's really cool with alternative schedules when it comes to that. I also told him I had a homebirth and he thought that was pretty cool too.

I wanted to ask, has anyone been to his Durango location? I just called the number on there to make sure they accepted our insurance and they said that he's moved to the Durango location. Also, it seems as though he's changed locations a lot in the last year according to our insurance company. Is that a bad sign or maybe just a mistake on our insurance's side? Thanks!

We saw Doctor Mendoza about a year ago after my son was born. He did accept Medicaid. I was not at all happy with the practice or him. He was a totally different doctor from when I first visited with my daughter 6years ago. He was so pro homebirth, breast feeding, supportive of not vaxing, etc. Now there were formula samples EVERYWHERE(it was excessive), refused to sign their lame waver for if you do not vax, his assistant touched the bottom of my daughters boots moving her ankles around and then touched my newborn without washing her hands. They seemed bothered and offended when I stopped her to wash her hands. I should take my son in for a one year check up but I have no clue what Ped to use.
