Two questions:
1. Are the activities good with your 3yo ds? (The same one that loves How Do Dinosaurs Say Goodnight?)
2. How did you manage to get an educator's card with B&N? From the sounds of it of the one near me, I'll have to wait until ds#1 is old enough to file an avidavit (sp?) so I have something "official" to show them ... :

i have older kids AND have a card from the state that says i'm a home educator. b&n require proof of being and educator.

the book as activities that I feel a 3 yr old would like (mine does) as long as you pick and choose what would be of his interest and safty i can't see why not. I saw it today (which is what reminded me to post this) for 5.98 on the childs bargin shelf...so look for it at your local one there.

some examples from the book:
an edible recipe (adjust for your families uses) to demonstrate how rocks form

creating own "fossil"

pebble mosaic

volcanos (cool, fun and safe)

a "blowing in the wind" experiment

corn husk dolls

garden

wind sock

water.

that's sketchy, but really there's a lot. I've done several when the kids asked to do something and my 3 yr old is always involved in one way or another even if he's just watching.

BTW for the volcano you can use lemon juice too i use baking soda and lemon juice to wash my produce (the kids love helping with this).
