I don't know if these are cheap enough, but they are durable and easy to clean, and made from recycled plastic...

http://www.naturalhomeshopping.com/b...px?Subject=NRG

Live near an Ollies? Or a Carpet Mart? You should be able to get a huge remnant or even a bound rug for $50 or less.

if you have a carpet store, they can cut a piece off of what ever carpet you want and bind the edges to make a rug.

I got mine at Ollie's. $60 for a 9 X 12 foot bound berber rug They have all kinds of patterns and colors, indoor and outdoor, and higher end rugs too if you want to spend a little more.

My carpetmart doesn't do this anymore. They have to send it to another store and charge you like an extra $100. So, not so much of a bargain after that!

Try Craigslist...there's always great rugs for cheap on there! Plus they'll have already off-gassed!

call around the carpet places and see what prices are for remnants. my husband picked up a purple remnant for our basement pretty cheap.

Is there a Capel Rug outlet near you? There is one in Raleigh and another near Sanford, I think. I've always gotten nice rugs there, and huge discounts. You could call and see when their next rug sale is. The last time I went, I got a 7x10ish 100% wool rug for under $100. At the outlet, they sell all the rugs that have minor blemishes and have all varieties and sizes.

I just bought a rug today at Marshall's. I would check places like Ross, Marshalls, TJ Max. They didn't have any large rugs out, but they had a bunch in the bag. I got a 5x8 100% wool for $80. It's thick and nice, so I think I did pretty good. Our last rug cost that much from KMart and was made of synthetic who knows what and got all flat and yucky. blech
