hey hello all. :} I'm Amy. my mom got me a moby wrap and i barely use it,.I can put it on i think. but i always feels to lose. so i was looking for a mama local to me to come over and see how i do it. and than show me how and make sure I'm doing OK myself. my husband got a job for Christmas season at the mall. he is gone alot doing 10 plus hr days. I'm having a tough time w PPD and having a local nursing mama friend would help alot. I'm seeing someone for therapy and someone for meds. i also have two older gurls in school. so my day tends to be all cut up. espally with the half day preschool program my 4 year old is in. so I've been home alot. since we have the one car. anyway prolly TMI but I'm a nice person and i have other Friends. i just hadn't had a new baby in a while and i don't have anymore crunchy mama friends. :} I dearly miss having some. I'm in south Eastern ct. I do know of the you tube clips on how to use your moby wrap. but i really want someone to come and show me. I'll make a pot of coffee or tea.. i know this was a bit all over the place. I'm sorry. Its late and I tired to go take a nap all day, but my 7 week old is on a eating marathon. we are moving in a few days and I'm the one who will be here to pack. Being able to wear the baby would be so helpful to pack and unpack. thanx ladies.

I'm also not in your area but hope you can find someone locally. I know it can be a big help to get someone to give some tips! My only suggestion is to check out all the 'groups' you can, such as La Leche League, Holistic Moms (looks like there are 4 in CT) and any babywearing groups that meet in CT. Even if they don't meet locally, they might have an online network and maybe someone will turn up closer to you. I also happened to meet a friend with my first son who attended a local parenting group run through our town I happened to meet her at a LLL meeting, too. This was just a free parenting program that started with infants and moms- so I did feel fortunate to meet a kindred spirit.

Sounds like it might be hard with just one car, but sometimes it felt like having a group once a week did get me out of the house and although I didn't always meet like-minded parents I did meet people that were interested in a few things I was. For example, maybe they thought I was crazy for cloth diapering, but often they liked the carrier I had(-;

I hope you have some luck- and good luck packing.

Papoose (it's a store near Shop Rite) has drop in playgroups that are free. I use to take my LO there when she was younger. I am due the first week in June and probably will go again.
