This is actually for a good friend who has just fired her doc. She hasn't had any luck finding a midwife there yet. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Here is a number for the hospital (New Hanover Regional Medical Center) Coastal Women's & Children's Center Certified Nurse-Midwives. 910-815-5190 (it is also the number for the ob/gyn department). She might also want to check out http://www.bnow.org/resources/midwives.html , which lists CNMs here. There aren't many, but the ones listed on the website are supposed to be good. HTH!

Hello,

I moved away from Wilmington 2 years ago. There was a CNM named Mary Slaughter who is a wonderful lady. Try her. At the time, options were limited to nonexistent for home births.
