My 2 year old needs a load of dental work. Went to the only Pediatric dentist in my ins. network (Pedatric Dental Associates - offices in Taylor and Bloomfield Hills). 6 of his top teeth are decaying (dx. pre-x-rays). When I said I was still bf'ing, Dentist and assistant (both young women), before even LOOKING in his mouth, said "that has to stop...now". I was so dumbfounded, and argued with them of course. I'm too experienced to be scared into weaning that easily. Having 3 other kids who were bf way past 2, and have completely normal teeth is cause to think that there is an underlying issue.
I made the appt. for the work to be done, and planned to go in there loaded with information to leave them AND a letter to the owner of the practice CC'ing the Board of Dentistry, stating how inappropriate their reaction was, but I'd rather just write the letter and not go back.

So I need suggestions on where to go that they will treat a 2 year old, and work with me on finding the cause and coming up with a solution that works with our family lifestyle.

Im really sorry they gave you such strife.

I can tell you they were AMAZING with my special needs spectrum daughter and got her through a horrible root canal when she was 2 1/2.

They have been amazing with Violet and all of her sensory issues (and she has many)

I'm not sure where they stand with breastfeeding, etc., but my dentist is more holistic than others & has respected my wishes for none (or less) x-rays, no numbing (meds) for fillings (used laser instead), etc. They also have a poster up about what ingredients are in vaccines, etc. that could be/are harmful. The dentist I see is Dr. Robert Rousseau & his address is 6405 Telegraph Rd # J-3, Bloomfield Hills, MI‎. His number is (248) 642-5460. HTH

This place isn't close to you, but I feel like they were really wonderful with my kids, not into fluoride, very crunchy.

Floss Avenue - Dr. Nyquist in Royal Oak, sorry I don't have the number here. They did my kids' first visits in my lap, started with counting their teeth when they started getting teeth, they would just do a quicky while I was in for my visit and never gave me any grief about bringing my kids to my cleaning appointments.
