Hi ladies! I recently had baby #4, and he will be 6 weeks old tomorrow. I am breastfeeding, and have always had an abundant supply with this and previous babies. There is a family at church that are adopting 4 children (siblings) and will get the 4th in about 2 weeks. This 4th baby was born July 4th (1 day after my Luke) and was born addicted to drugs, and is currently going through a detox program. I have offered (and they have accepted) to pump breastmilk for their baby. It won't be enough to be exclusively BF, but I will do what I can, figuring that what I can give would be better than nothing (right?)

My question... I plan on pumping right after Luke eats (have to make sure he gets his, right?) and storing it in the supply bags...I'm also planning on taking some of the Mother's Milk tea to get a jump on supply to have some stored up when they get him... does this sound okay? Any advice or suggestions?
TIA!

I would only recommend waiting about 15-20 minutes after he eats. During that time your breasts will be making milk in full gear and if you then pump it will just kick everything up. I think what you are doing is so great. Breastmilk's benefits are certainly dose related so every little bit counts.

Thanks... I just feel so bad for that poor little guy, getting such a rough (and crappy) start in life, and I figure that since I'm already making milk for 1, it wouldn't be very hard to up that to 2 since I usually make a lot anyhow (and I love oatmeal! lol).
