My dd will be visiting her dad this summer. He's newly divorced and works full time. She's too old for daycare and I don't feel comfortable with her staying home alone while he's at work all day. Do any of you know of a day camp in the baldwin-whitehall school district that would take a 12/13 year old? She'll be turning 13 while she's there.

I would use this website: <a href="http://www.ymcaofpittsburgh.org" target="_blank">http://www.ymcaofpittsburgh.org</a> to find the YMCA closest to where your dd will be in Pittsburgh this summer. Nearly all of the YMCAs in Pittsburgh have day camps and they are fairly inexpensive compared to some other day camp programs. When I was working as a behavioral specialist for a student who was the same age as your dd he had the option of either attending day camp in a "Explorers" program for older kids or helping out with the younger kids as a "junior counselor." Both programs had fees and adult supervision of course, but the camp director said that some older kids resist going to camp as campers so they let them be junior counselors.
