the books is called "Medications and Mother's Milk: A Manual of Lactional Pharmacology", april 2004 ed.

i'm trying to determine which antidepressant is better to take while BFing and keep finding that zoloft is supposed to be... but all the info i found is linked to hale's 2002 book/info. nothing from the new edition. my psychiatrist says i should go with prozac b/c it's been studied most... so i can't decide.

if anyone has this book, i would be most grateful if you could look it up for me.

thanks in advance!!

PS: i'm posting this in the TAO forum as well.

I don't have the new edition of the book, but here is a link to a forum where people ask Dr. Hale questions; thought it might be of help:

I would feel fairly confident trusting the info in the 2002 edition of the book; probably not much has changed if you're researching prozac or zoloft or things that have been around awhile. I'm guessing there are frequent new editions b/c there are so many new drugs that come out in 2 years' time.

Can't your psychiatrist get ahold of the 2004 book (or info from it) for you?

Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck!

Sorry, thought of one more thing -- LLL has a 1-800 number you can call for breastfeeding info and support, you might try there. Don't have the number but I'm sure it's on their website. You might also try your local LLL leader for help.
