UM, I just got 4 new bummis super print covers. They are SO cute. One problem, they leak. The leg bands totally wick the pee out. I am so frustrated. What to do? I really like them in every other respect, but I can't deal w/ them leaking all the time!

Also, the only cloth dipes I have used to this point have been the motherease. They have been awesome.(well, I have used prefolds on my siblings, but that was, like, 10-15 years ago so I don't remember w/ much clarity....but I digress)

Anyhow, I just got some yummy soft cotton sherpa contours to use for J till he fits into the ME one size. One problem, I cant figure out how to secure them to keep the poop in. Any experience w/ contours would be appreciated. oh, here is a link so you can see what they look like!

This isn't going to help you much, but I had zero luck with Bummis myself. They wicked AND didn't keep the poop in. That said, there are a lot of people out there who love them, so my only thought is that different covers work for different babies! Anyhow, I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone.

Re: the contours, there's really no way to secure them, as they're meant to simply be laid in the cover. Therefore, you will get poop on your covers every single time the baby poops (especially at this stage!). The key is to get really well-fitting covers...for me, this meant good leg gussets (which was one of the problems with Bummis). I had a lot of luck with Diaperaps - they always kept even the worst poops inside the cover.

Oh, and another thing with contours - they're not nearly as absorbent as prefolds, so when I tried them I always had to use a doubler. Maybe that contributed to your wicking problems with the Bummis?
