i live in missoula montana where it has been incredibly smoky due to wildfires for over a month. i read a lovely thing in the paper that there is Mercury in this smoke, but thats not even my primary concern right now. i just need to be able to BREATHE

i got a minor cold about a week ago but the smoke has made it hang on in my lungs. it is uncomfortable to breathe, but i am not having "difficulty" ...yet. i need nursing-friendly herbs or homeo treatments...

here are links , if anyone is curious , from our health dept about the smoke.

http://www.co.missoula.mt.us/EnvHeal...tusReport.html (current air quality)

http://www.co.missoula.mt.us/EnvHealth/AirQ/aqfaq.htm (smoke composition, etc)

http://www.co.missoula.mt.us/EnvHeal...ire/page7.html smoke levels explaination

I have a homeopathic remedy by Dr. Natural called throat relief which is symptomatic treatment of dry irritated throats due to smoking, smog or dry weather. This stuff really works too!
It has
baryta carb 3x
belladonna 3x
merc. biniodide 3x
phytolacca 3x
Hope you can find some. They are out of L.A.
I know that thyme is for the lungs like peppermint is for the tummy-very soothing. Maybe you can run a humidifier with some thyme oil or if you dont have thyme oil I know that listerine has thymol in it which is thyme oil. Maybe put a little of that in humidifier. or if you have thyme herb make a strong brew of that and breathe in the vapors! i hope it gets better soon. that doesn't sound good! Laura
