So my best friend in town is due to pop with baby number 3 any day now. The gifts have all been given, the showers are done, the thank you notes are written, everything is ready for the babe's arrival.

After the baby is here, and she is home, what would be the *most* helpful to her? Her other children are 6 and 3. All of her family and extended family live here in town, so she'll have housecleaning/cooking help already. I was thinking I would do something to get the older kids out of the house, and/or entertain them somehow, or would that stress her out more? I want to do something nice for her, but what?

I only have one child, so I can't base this on my experience.

Yes, we have a children's museum that is huge and has all kinds of stuff. I was also thinking...maybe I could take them to a children's movie?
The 3 y.o. has been to a movie before, I think. She turns 4 in December.

Duly noted. Hmm. I'm not brave enough to take them to a water park
, I'm trying to think of a good spot where dh and I could watch them both AND ds....not an easy task. LOL. Ooooh, I just thought of something....there's this really neat park nearby that has an outdoor carousel and duck pond and huge playground.....maybe there?

I'm expecting my 3rd very soon. I'm thinking that the best help other than food and cleaning would be to take my 2-yr-old off my hands sometimes. My 4-yr-old isn't much trouble at home, but my 2-yr is a total wildman and I anticipate him being quite a danger to the newborn. Having him out of the house doing something *very active* without me would be fabulous!!

For me, there was just one thing that I wanted: MEALS! I wanted good, homemade meals so durn bad. My DH is a lousy cook (he tried hard, but eggs and toast got old real fast) and I was so thrilled when someone brought me a wonderful dinner.
