I'm down in Durango, but rarely travel to Denver so I'm not familiar with it at all. DH has a business trip there over labor day weekend, DD and I are tagging along,he'll be working 1-2 days so DD and I have to entertain ourselves. DH will be downtown and I'd prefer to stay in that area, I never drive in a city and am nervous about it.
So what's around the downtown area that would keep a 3.5 year old busy without totally exhausting her pg mama?

Well, there's lots of fun things to do! There is the zoo, the aquarium, the Children's Museum, the Museum of Nature and Science. There are malls with play areas - Cherry Creek being the closest to downtown. There are parks, of course. The 16th Street mall is pretty fun, but requires walking. I'll keep thinking and come back if I can come up with more ideas....I ought to be able to, I've lived here all my life!

I hope this is not considered spam, but my good friend and I (both AP moms, my partner is an API and LLL leader) just opened a family-friendly coffee shop in Wash Park, not exactly downtown, but pretty close. It is called The Heirloom Cafe and is at 853 E. Ohio Ave., Denver, CO 80209. Our website is www.theheirloomcafe.com and provides a link to a map where you can get directions (you wouldn't have to drive on any highways). We have a dedicated children's play area and a great, affordable children's menu. We hope you'll stop by!

Jenni, I sure hope your post isn't considered spam either, because I appreciate being told of your cafe! I just sent a link to my hubby, and perhaps we'll get out there one evening this week or over the weekend. It'll be nice to go someplace where I can sip my drink and my son can sip his without feeling like we'll be looked at like we're freaks!

y'all are open? we've met! while you were still converting the space, we walked by with a baby in a stroller and a little girl-- one of your little girls came out and talked with us (i believe you said she was 2) and she hugged my little girl.

it's great to hear your open! we'll come by soon!
