hi! I am trying to find out more about local schools before my son starts (he is almost 4). I am interested in Montessori and Waldorf as well as other charters. Can't afford private!
Please let me know any opinions about what is out there. I am in Sahuarita and the public schools are ridiculously overcrowded.

I personally hope to send ds to the Highland Free School, Desert Sky, or one of the charter Montessoris when the time comes.

Yup-- those are the ones I was finding-- and I will check Highland Free also. What do you know about Highland Free? I can find some reviews on Greatschools.net, but I was hoping someone would be familiar with the style of soem of these schools, as I can't visit each one easily. I know the Desert Sky is on church grounds and that is a tough one for me as we are a mixed religion family and some photos had crosses in the assembly hall. And I don't know how fundamentalist the Montessori and Waldorf choices are.
Anyone have any experience with any of these?
