I am due with my 2nd baby in 2 weeks. 3yo ds is still in diapers. I am desperately seeking a diaper bag with the following in mind:

I hate backpacks - I can't stand having to get them on and off while holding a baby in my arms.

I really like messenger/healthy back type bags. I have one now that I love, and it works great for us, but it won't hold enough for two kids in cloth diapers. I like to be able to sling it across my shoulder and be able to help ds up the slide without it falling off.

My ideal bag would have two large inner compartments. One would hold about 3 small cloth diapers, and two changes of clothes (infant size). One would be for 1 large cloth diaper, snacks and sippy cup. I would also like a separate, but smaller, compartment for my stuff: wallet, cell phone, small camera, some makeup, etc. I would also like to be able to fit a small changing pad in there.

It can't be way too big. I don't want to walk around with a suitcase on my shoulder.

I don't care if it's a cute WAHM toile print style, or a black microfiber style - I just want it to work for both kids.

And here's a very important question: How the heck do you carry a diaper bag when you have a sling on?!?!?!?!

Please help. I have been searching all over and I can't find anything.

Have you done a search in this forum about this topic?
I suggest checking around ebay.... also a couple of WAHMs make something like what you are referring to... Sellin Threads and Cotton Babies come to mind. I got a cute bag off ebay that is similar to what you're talking about, and I love it. I also found one that works just like you described from the dept. store for 40 bucks. Just poke around.....and have fun shopping!

I have a Mimi the Sardine bag I bought NWT on ebay for $15. It is definately large enough for 2. There are two large pockets on one side of the inner, and three smaller pockets on the other side. The outside is "eco-coated", dunno what that really means though, some sort of water based thing. It is very bright and vibrant, wipe clean, machine washable, somewhat large but not too large IMO. I don't know if you use a stroller, but I can loop the straps over both handles to make it nice and taut so I have fast and easy access. Mimi the Sardine also makes matching bibs, aprons, table cloths, placemats, and sells the fabric so you can make matching accessories.
