She is due in 5 weeks, she lives in Auz, 2 weeks ago she was having troubles, she said she could not get off the couch, there were loud cracking sounds comming from her pelvis then it felt like her hips and pelvis were going to crumple, she started getting strong period cramps then major back pain, after about an hour it went away, she never did get checked. Sounds like false labor, but the cracking pelvis and hip stuff has me stumped, and this was at 7 weeks till due date. Im really worried about her as she had a very hard time getting preg, and was taking some kinda meds because she was not ovulating, she had 2 MC while on those meds gave up for a year, then got preg without the meds, so that was a miracle. Any advice I can give her? TIA

Could it be stiffness from being on the couch so long? I know when I spend a lot of time sitting my hips have a tendency to pop and hurt. I'd think that kind of thing would be aggravated by her joints loosening in preparation for labor.

She may find it more comfortable to sit on a birthing ball. She can also try siting backwards on a chair (with a pillow to lean on) and having her husband massage her lower back.
