I freelance write/do my own writing for 2 hrs a day. I have a babysitter come, she's perfect and adheres to my AP stuff/no television/whatever while I'm holed up in my office. I think 2 hrs a day is fair, a solid two and the others I'm doing momma stuff

The thing is, she won't leave me alone! While babysitter is holding babe she will sneak upstairs screaming mommamamaommomoma and will hug me/beg to stay. And I cave, I'm always like go have a sweet! Go do this please! I need ten more minutes PLEASE! And than the babysitter comes up and she's really apologetic and she offers paints, whatever...

How can I make the two hours easier on DD? She's 3

that's tough. can you go to a coffeeshop or a public library or another nearby quiet space to work? or have the babysitter take her out of the house during that time, like to the park?

My DS is also 3 and I know where you're coming from. Every morning, I give DS a hug and a kiss and tell him I'm going to work. I walk out the front door. DH (a SAHD) takes DS into the kitchen or his bedroom and I come back in and sneak into my office. Sneaky, yes, but it works!

We also have a clock that lights up so DS knows when I'm "coming home" from work. When the bunny on the clock lights up, he knows it's time to expect me home.

And really, preschool has been the biggest source of support. We found a very progressive preschool that is highly respectful of AP (the teacher is an AP dad). DS goes there 2-3 mornings a week and it has really helped me to get work done (well, except for right now when I have writer's block and am trying to get past it by poking around on MDC ).
