Well dd is now almost 10 months and just started crawling! I had assumed that it would take her a while to get going really fast, but she's already getting into things! Now I need some help. There is an entire corner of my living room that is pretty much un-babyproofable. I would like to just barrocade off the whole corner. That would take about 6-7 feet or something to stick there. I don't want to buy one of those hearth safety gates b/c they cost 180.00. Any other ideas?

Could you put your couch in front of it? That would hold her until she can climb, anyway. Or is your living room barracadable -- is there a doorway you can block off to stop her from getting into the entire room?

Other than that, you'll have to either move stuff or teach her not to go there.

We have the Supergate play yard, which can be configured in many different ways. We did sometimes use it for a corner-of-the-room-barricade. It's expensive too (though not $180) but we got ours from ebay (from someone local to us at the time) for $25 I think! Craigslist is great for that stuff too.
