Does anybody know of a place I can get grape leaf to make homemade pickles. I have made a first batch and then read that you need to put grape leaf in to make them crispy. Our batch is not crispy, but they are alright to go on salads.

Thanks,

not at all - it just keeps things from getting mushy. at least, that's what my parents tell me.

homemademomma - do you mean oak leaves, as in, go pull one off my oak tree and plunk it in the jar with the pickles??! For some reason when I read about oak leaf being used before for this purpose, it didn't actually register with me that it's not something I have to buy, but instead something I have to go pick from the yard
