Ok!! I've checked out the reccommended docs and only one takes insurance. They only take BCBS PPO which we don't have. So any decent docs that take Cigna PPO? I tried a random one yesterday and it was pretty bad. The doc we tried w/ my mom prescribed Biaxin for an ear infection that turned out to be shingles.

So any decent docs that take insurance? Or atleast a dermatologist since I should have my moles checked every 3-4 months (grew up in Calif and thus considered high risk for skin cancer).

Any one???

Check out Dr. Edward Garbacz, 770-399-5308. He's in Dunwoody & we drove down from Alpharetta to see him. he's an internist & practices TCM, but he's a great doctor. Not sure about the insurance issue, but what we found was that our insurance didn't cover the tests we needed for my husband's health, so it was a moot issue anyway.

We are good! Hunter will be 2 weeks old tomorrow. We had a great U/C!

How are you?

We are moving to NW FL in 2 weeks.... we've been gone all summer (in PCB) & then this opportunity came up! Actually, I got a job, which is hard with a newborn, but I am learning about pumping for the first time & DH will be home with baby & 3 year old DD.

It's the only answer to the issue of his health & our family's financial stability. It's good because my hours are set & I will be in management at a health food store. Plus, he can work on his music, once his health gets better!

Dr. Garbacz is great. A gentle giant who is willing to look outside the box for answers. His willingness to test DH for gut & adrenal issues has been key to us finding the answers to everything.

Hope you are well!

Dr. Garbacz doesn't take insurance. There is actually one in Marietta that takes insurance, but isn't taking new patients.

We are down to one income currently and still own a house in Michigan in addition to our rent here. So we must have a doc that takes insurance.

Amy, it's a bit of a drive for you, but we used to see Dr. Rene Latoni in Lawrenceville. He's very laid back and natural, but he doesn't give me warm fuzzies with his bedside manner.
Have you tried asking Dr. Kute for some recommendations? She gave me one, but I'm sure she would have others. Pretty frustrating, huh?

We saw Dr. Latoni a couple of times. I took Lula just so she would know what a doctor was
. And then I took Marcos for a newborn check after our UC, in case I needed it for the birth certificate.

I totally agree with Paige's assessment of him... he didn't care at all that we were not vaccinating, and when I didn't want to do the PKU he told me he didn't think it was necessary anyway. So he went right along with my leave-nature-alone philosophy.

BUT, we were left waiting for an hour and a half after our appointmennt time in an exam room, when I brought Marcos in. I told him how inconvenient that was, and that if they had let me know before putting me in a room (and repeatedly assuring me he'd be in soon) I'd have just rescheduled. He was not at all apologetic for being late. He got a little attitude with me that I would dare say anything, actually.

Luckily we moved, got Dr. Kute and didn't have to see him again.

I would like to have a doctor for myself too.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Dr. Bray and her Nurse Practitioner John. Dr. Bray was supportive of my decision for my homebirth. However, I find it sometimes a challenge to get timely callbacks, so I choose to use someone else for my kids.

I know this an old thread...but was wondering if anyone else had any other recommendations. I want to find a family doc for my mom and I. I am actually going to see Dr. Kute soon and plan on asking her...

Thanks
