I am in a secret swap, so I can't ask my pal
. She thinks it would be neat to receive some American yarns that are harder to find over there. Which would those be? I will not give her any Rowan, lol. Are there any other items that you would love to get your hands on? She has a sweet tooth, hmm.... Any notions or patterns that are "American" and hard to find in the UK?

Any input will be great!

my mum likes getting sock yarns (other than opal). she also likes the hand dyed yarns like ArtYarns.

i think something arty or fancy would be good. or maybe hand-dyed lace yarn (knitpicks?)

Alot of nice english yarn is for "utility knitting", i.e. knitting clothes you are going to wear often, rather than "special" stuff

-rebecca- (who just ordered an insanely large amount of yarn from england!)

I really liked the cotton flake yarn from Iornstone Warehouse I used for that Pi shawl... they are from New Mexico. There is Brown Sheep from Nebraska...

As for pure American confection- I don't think maple sugar candy can be beat. I don't think Maple Syrup is "done" in England- correct me if I'm worng.
