2) does it work well at night?
3) If you use it every night how often do you have to wash it?
4) what size do you own?

any other suggestions are great! you guys will help me make an informed decisionthat will hopefully help us at night!! Thanks mamas

Terran sleeps naked and I've become kind of evangelical about it. He's the only one of my babes not to have serious diaper rash problems (even though EC is going less-than-prefectly atm) in spite of pouring a lot of money into a lot of diapering supplies.

We originally bought $30 worth of these for Terran's birth, but when they cleaned up sparkly white again with a bit of peroxide, they became our sleepy pads. They're MUCH easier to change than dipes and easier for me to wake up enough to "remember", too, since I get just as cold and clammy as the babe does.

It took him less than a week to learn what the "psss" sound meant after his birth.

We have two nekkie blankies original (version 1.0 and 2.0) along with two liners for each. There's not a difference in size between the two versions, although the snaps line up differently between the two, so we can't interchange them. We ordered our first before the new owner and redesign. We ordered our second before the new owner updated the website, so we didn't know about the redesign. I kind of wish she'd told us that we wouldn't be able to interchange the liners : You really can put anything inside as a liner, but it's nice to have it snap in place. We wash it whenever it gets soiled and/or we change our sheets. Ds sleeps nakie butt, but rarely pees in his sleep anymore, so it's usually when we change the sheets. It works well for us because we have a cal king. Otherwise, we'd be sleeping on it, too.

I haven't tried the mini version. Not sure what I'd use it for. hth

I have one!

2) does it work well at night?

Yes! DD has been sleeping on hers since she was 4 months old (she is 12 months old now). She sleeps between DH and I. It has definitely caught a lot of pees that would have otherwise soaked the bed.

3) If you use it every night how often do you have to wash it?

We use it every night; if it gets wet, I just take the liner out and hang it up to dry so it is dry for the next night. I wash it when I think about it or if it looks or smells especially icky. For awhile, her pee didn't really smell, but I noticed it is started to take on that urine smell...

4) what size do you own?

We have the original size.. and still she misses it on occasion when she rolls off...

I definitely recommend one if you don't want to diaper at night!!

We have one too, sorry I started to answer when I first read it, and then got sidetracked!

2) does it work well at night?
Yup, nice that the bed doesn't get soaked too. I have found that DS is light enough that he won't get wet if he lays on it where it's wet, but I will. Damp, not like, soaking. But it's enough to get uncomfortable if I lay on a wet spot.

3) If you use it every night how often do you have to wash it?
I would say I wash it less than I should, considering. I've never noticed a smell, and we don't have our own washer and dryer so even if he pees on it every night, it's still not getting washed until a week has passed. If it's very wet in the morning I will hang it up so it will dry out, but I don't even have to do that, normally.

4) what size do you own?
Umm the normal size lol. They have more sizes now? The size we have is plenty big enough, and DS and I switch sides to nurse all night without moving it around...it fits under both of us.

Can I bump this? DH said it's fine for us to order a Nekkie blanket each month til babe comes (giving us 3 ) if I would like.

They look very nice and what I've read has been positive, and I'm thinking they'd be good to have under me and the babe at night for leaky boobs/EC, and better than the pads you can buy from home health places.

I have one concern - the site says all the liners are now made of birdseye. Does anyone have one of these versions with the birdseye liner, and if you do, are you pleased with it?

I have birdseye diapers that I use a burp cloths and I wouldn't want a liner made out of those. The gallery pics on the Nekkie site show a liner that looks like DSQ dipes. Maybe the birdseye is just really nice and thick and not like the burp cloth ones?

Can anyone help before I spend $40 on a blanket?

Not sure if you can buy them from any other diapering or WAHM stores?

I actually have locksmamas nekkie blankie, as she bought one and didnt use it (whoops!). Uhh, we dont use it, either. I should prolly give it back now.. We are just not a nakey butt family. Since day one, I have used a regular bath towel folded in half under my chest at night. I dont need it for me anymore, but still need it for dd for drool, spit up, etc. That has worked perfectly fine for us. I dont care for the nb b/c I cannot just replace the liner; I have to wash the whole thing. Too much of a pita, and the liner takes for-ev-er to dry When I need something waterproof, I much much prefer the cloth pad we took from the hospital.
