I have surgery for the cerclage tomorrow in Milwaukee. I'm starting to feel very nervous. I had one with DS, but it was found at my first perinatologist appt (no one could figure out why I was bleeding so much) and I had the surgery urgently...no time to really think about it.

Now I've had time to think, too much time!! I know the risks, especially with the clotting disorder I have while pregnant and it's starting to freak me out a bit. I can't wait for it to be Friday and have this behind me!

Off to write DS a letter in case something really bad happens...(that's the hospice nurse in me

Good luck! Just the thought of surgery of any type is nerve wracking when you know you have clotting issues. Hopefully your preparation will give you a little sense of peace. You will be in my thoughts...

Well, I'm alive. The surgery went well. Baby looks good. I came home late evening last night after the spinal wore off and I could walk/eat/pee. I am having some moderate cramping, like period cramps, which they said I'll have for a few days...I don't really remember that from DS. I have been bleeding just a little, a minipads worth, which is also normal though nerve wracking.

Going to lie down again, I feel like someones been moving my innards around!

LOTS of hugs. I was on a bedrest/incompetent cervix group on Yahoo and although I didn't end up with the cerclage, some of the other ladies did. They described it very similarly to what you have, so I would say that it's pretty common to cramp and have mild bleeding.

Take care of you!
