I must be nesting today.
I cleaned the basement.
The basement is unfinished. It has a lot of crap in it. Why I did it, I don't know. Well, I guess I do know. The cat box is down there and I have to keep the door to the basement open so they can get down there and I'm afraid some stranger will come in and happen to look down there and see a pile of unorganized boxes.
Speaking of cat boxes, I've kindly asked my husband a few times over the last week to bring in this 35 pound thing of cat litter I bought at Target. It made it up to the deck and sat there for 2 days. So I brought it in and thought "Hmm what are the chances it will bust open if I slide it down the stairs????" Well, I guess the chances were pretty good. I lost about half of it when I put it down the stairs and spent about 20 minutes sweeping it up. Then I actually decided to CLEAN the litter box with actual hot water rather than dumping it out and replacing it with new litter. That's a once per year event.
So now I'm doing more laundry. I'm hoping to keep up on it because I don't want people to see my laundry when they come when I'm in labor. Maybe that's why I cleaned the basement too... The midwife will go down there afterwards to do laundry.
I'm so hating bending over and picking stuff up. That is the biggest drag of them all.
I also made tuna salad today and also am in the process of egg salad. I've never prepared food for the week before. This is odd. I even chopped celery and onions to put into it. Even more odd.
Unlike most people I'm really hoping to make it to or past 40 weeks. I just feel like I need more time!!!!! But I've been having so many bh contractions I'm feeling like I did last time, that I'd be ready by 38 weeks. On the other hand I'm in the mindset that I'm not going to wake up in a puddle of water anytime soon.
Ohhh... also lost the list that my midwife gave to me for the birth but I think I remember everything. I just need the number for the birth kit. I figure I'll write it all down (what I remember) and when she comes on the 1st I'll show it to her and have her tell me what I missed. Plus I'd like to have it all ready in a box or something just so it's there.
Tomorrow is a baby shower! For me and my sister. Should be nice. I think only 15 people are expected including hostesses and us. I'm wondering what I'll get since I didn't register really for anything but a handful of cloth diapers, and that the invitation said it was a shower for my sister and a sprinkling for me :LOL Which is fine--I have been saying from the beginning it wouldn't be fair to have a shower for me. I wouldn't mind having a few high dollar gift certificates though. I already have a few stashes going on but more is always better. I even bought my plus sized maxi pads Which reminds me, I could totally use some big granny pants for afterwards. Or at least some cool throwaway undies. I need to stay true to my coolness. Ha.
Oh, my face is fat too. Love it. Got a great pic of me and dh and my son the other day when he graduated from preschool but my face totally doesn't look like my face. In other pics it looks fine, but in full fledged smile I'm sure people are all "Oh, so that's where those babies get the cheeks from".
Anyway, bring on the fat babies!! People keep telling me that I look small, which is fine, I mean, would I rather be called huge? But anyway, I am trying to bake a 10 pounder so it irks me. I just have an obnoxious thing going where I want the baby born at home and huge. Not necessarily so I can gloat (even though I will), but to prove it can be done, no prob.
So if you made it this far thanks
I'm going to go swiffer the floor! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
My face is fat, too. Oh well.

I continue my obsession with keeping my sinks sparkly through this whole pregnancy. Go sinks! Yesterday I was so proud of myself because I washed, folded and put away the whole newborn layette. It's all nice and tidy in the top drawer of the baby's dresser. hooray! It was quite a walk down memory lane for me remembering dressing my dc's in those tiny outfits...yep, I cried and hugged some of the clothes

Now, I just need to get dh to re-caulk the bathtub and scrub it clean because I plan on laboring in there while I'm active (and possibly transition) and it needs to be clean or I'll gross out.

I hope you get some good stuff at your shower, Karen!

I mopped every floor in the apartment last night, twice, and then went psycho on the bathroom. I even scrubbed the toilet brush holder. :
I've been obsessed with keeping the edges of all the doors in the house clean...you know the area around the doorknob that gets all grungy?? Been driving me nuts lately.

I too have been weird about the fingerprints around door knobs and light switches, I got all those done last week. Yesterday I took ajax, bleach, and a toothbrush to all the grout on the kitchen counters...hasn't been done since we bought the place 2 1/2 years ago, then I swept, mopped, vacuumed all the floors, brushed the dog, unloaded/loaded the dishwasher, detailed the espresso machine (which has also never been doen in the 3 years we've had it) and finally got the gunk off the steamer, baked a loaf of sundried tomato bread, made salad and homemade pizza for dinner with dough and sauce I made from scratch in huge batches the day before and froze, made about a million meatballs which I froze, made a stash of peeled garlic 'cause I hate having to peel it when I need it, cleaned the stove...wow, my back hurt after all that!
I got mad at people for saying I was nesting before, but even I think this is getting excesive...I just have this urge to have a week's worth of food cooked and stored...and for my house to be sparkly...and I will have to do it all over again in another month when I'm due!
Makes no sense at all...
When DH got home, I was the picture of wifeyhood with the table set with matching dishes on placemats! And dinner ready with his favorite breve latte as well!
Maybe I just want to get it right at least once before the baby comes and life changes forever. DONE!

So far I've thought about cleaning...I hate to clean and the nesting cleaning thing just hasn't kicked in. I've thought about having my mom help me clean next week, so everything would be good to go for a while.

If any of you run out of stuff to clean at your places, you know where to find me

Well so far I've washed the walls and all the floors. I moved out the fridge and stove and cleaned under those! Then I cleaned DD's room and painted the babies then I cleaned ours. You know in the corners that no one sees. I am planning on pulling out the dryer this week and picking up the babies swing and car seat and bouncer from my moms and bassinet from DH's moms next weekend. I also need to throw away some of DD's toys! The thing is all these things just get dirty again! Like the walls I see need help again! :LOL

Dang, you ladies are industrious.

Since my one burst of cleaning energy a few weeks back I have had nothing. I have to make myself clean.

I've got some food ready for after-baby in the freezer. Got baby stuff laundered and put away. The fridge has been cleaned. The bedroom has been super-vacced and rearranged. The floors stay vacuumed thanks to my adorable new vaccuum cleaner. I keep the dishes done...

Need to mop kitchen, scrub tub, clean windowsills, tidy up junk room, scrub sinks. And prolly more too that I can't think of at the moment. *Sigh*

Karenn hope you and your sister have a good shower! Me and my sister had a joint shower today, it was lots of fun, we got lots of cute stuff. Now we're just waiting on babies

I wish I were nesting. :LOL I'm sort of nesting in my mind. I think a lot about all the things I need to do to clean and organize, but somehow I don't get around to it. And that is stressing me out. Of course, we just moved into this house a month ago, so it can't be that dirty. I was totally annoyed about moving so late in my pregnancy, but now that I think about it...maybe it was a good thing. There are just a few things that aren't unpacked...mostly my clothing, which I can't wear anyways. So, really there's just some clutter that's built up over the last couple of weeks. Now that I think about it...it's not that bad! woohoo! :LOL
