So, Jake has autism, was dx'd at 2 1/2. Seth is now 4 and I finally got around to have him evaluated as an 'at risk' b/c he's got sensory issues, speech issues, social issues a bit, and still isn't potty trained and won't pt. I was sure he would qualify, but of course to get the actual approval letter that he does qualify is a mixed bag of emotion.

I've got him on the wait lists and will be meeting w/our SC to set up hab/respite.

So, he's not really dx'd w/autism, but it's so clear that he does have some symptoms. I'm glad I'm finally able to get him therapies.

I think seeing/hearing things officially is always hard at some level or was for me at least.

I was in your place a little less than a year ago. It was hard to deal with. I'm glad your ds will be getting services though.

Hugs to you Michelle! Good luck with services, hopefully you don't have to fight for the hab hours you need!

We just finished fighting to keep Jake's hab hours. We'll see about Seth. I still don't know that he'd get an official autism dx, but probably pdd-nos. It's good b/c now he gets services, but bad that now he really 'needs' services.

I know everyone hear understands. Thanks.

I've read of a lot of people losing hours - so did Jake get to keep all of his ours? We just had our ISP for Alex last week - we were able to get 60 hours of hab. My daughter has 40. My son was only qualified as having an epilepsy diagnosis as his "high functioning autism" diagnosis didn't pass DDD muster (since he's 7). The SC was surprised that they approved the 60 without the dual dx. He said people are losing services left and right.
