New FB leaking - um - help?

I am not sure if I am putting dd's diaper on incorrectly or if she is "stuck" between the medium and large sizes...When I put her in the large I put both snaps on the very inside one and it still has a large gap on the front where her belly is and a little gap in her leg area but with the mediums she is on the last snap on the legs and she doesn't look comfy. They also seem too short for her since she is tall. I was hoping not to have to invest in the petite size becasue I can't afford it...She is also leaking at night...I have been putting in 2 of the cottonbabies inserts and a doubler. For the first night we CD'd (a few days ago!
) it worked fine but she has been leaking every other night.
Anyone???

My dd is 2 yo and we use medium FB during the day (one snap left at leg, tightest snaps at waist) and then we use large FB at night. We end up overlapping the waist snaps to keep the large snug enough on her waist and keep the dipe from drooping - it doesn't look super-nice but it seems to work, keeps it on snug enough that she seems comfy and the dipe stays put. Haven't had too many problems with leaking, but I have begun putting in a hemp doubler in between two terry or other fabric inserts for nighttime, since the hemp holds a lot but doesn't catch it fast like the microterry does. I've found she does best with a microterry insert closest to her, then a hemp, then whatever other insert I have (I have some older inserts made for FB that I got used from a mom on eBay, I think she made them - the work great but I've no idea what's inside them) - usually it's a nice thick microterry insert that I bought from a WAHM on eBay.

For me the biggest problem I have is that the mediums are not enough for overnight but the larges gap at the leg - that's why I use some pretty thick stuffing for inside, so I can stuff it up and keep the gap at her leg from causing leaks. So far it's working pretty well.

HTH and good luck!

you might need the PT size. What we do at night is use 2 inserts (thirsties) and a pro rap cover. Emma is 25 lbs and chunky. Is your insert fitting from side to side? It really does sound like your size is off. Sorry!

Have you tried crossing the waist snaps? It sounds like the pee is coimng out the side because it's not fitting tight enough. If the microfleece isn't right up against her then the pee will just roll out the leg. It sounds like you have plenty of absorbancy unless she's a VERY heavy wetter

If they still don't fit then try trading them or selling them over at the diapering TP so you can get what size you do need
