Yes, I agree that is a pretty high starting bid... $99???
But you are right, someone will buy it!!! So pretty!

There are Two ice star's on e-bay at the same time? Yikes, that is insane! Guess it isn't so 'rare' at this moment is it? LOL

$50-60..can't remember.
How pretty! I would love to bid on one of these, but my PayPal is depleted

Anyway, $99 does seem kind of excessive for a STARTING bid. Yikes!

Ohhh, so they appreciate in value by sitting in one's house then, no?

Yep,
surge of hormones, I'm having. I suppose the seller could have paid a pretty penny that was over retail and is just trying to recoup that. Surely, no one would be reselling fuz for profit, eh??????
...whoops, I think I have horns AND steam now.

Just :ignore me!!

I think I paid $90 for mine fresh from the garden... that was a fitted dipe and the Fuzbomb. That was also before she raised the prices though.

It is probably gone because the seller frequents this board and her feelings may have been hurt. You know if she wants to make a profit, all the power to her. For goodness sakes there is no way you will ever get a brand new one because that particular one is not being made ever again and she only wants its worth in my opinion. If it had been a large I would of bid! It will still fit stinker now but the large would of fit him when he walks. Now if it were used and in ratty shape that is a different story but it is brand new. Sheesh!

That's odd for an auction to be closed like that. I wonder if someone e-mailed her and made her a good offer?

I'll be interested to see what the other Ice Star goes for! Oh - how I would LOVE to be able to bid on it!

I agree. Its unfair to balk at the starting bid. It is afterall, BRAND NEW.
I sold one awhile back because the AIOs don't fit Maggie well. My starting bid was $50, I think and it sold for $180!!!
I'm sorry I sold mine and think it'd fit Maggie better now since she's filled out and I'd have probably bid on it too!!!!

..and I pulled it because raising money for rent was not worth the abuse I was seeing here. I did not recieve any other offers on it. I just did'nt want the drama.

And FWIW, I did not realize that someone else was selling another Ice Star until after I had listed mine... it wasn't there when I had checked earlier. If I had realized there was another one up, I would have waited a week to list mine.

As Chris said, used Ice Stars have sold for more then my starting price. Would it have been better if I would have set a low starting price and put a reserve on it? I thought what I was doing was more fair because it was straightforward and honest. It was'nt so much about 'making a profit' as knowing what this was worth and wanting... no, needing to get that for it... I had purchased this for my ds months ago while pregnant with the intention of it being for my much desired baby. I never dreamed that I would have to sell it.

We are broke (very, very broke) because I quit my job to be home with ds because my employer was refusing to give me enough time to pump and my milk was drying up. Also, front snaps don't fit ds well at all, and I am always using my Fuz Easy and (gasp!) Biobottoms wool covers which fit ds better... I decided to sell this to someone who will love it as I would have. Besides, I can't justify keeping and using a cover this valuable a cover when we are on the verge of getting our phone shut off.

I really don't know what I am going to do with it now.

you put that auction back up after the other one closes.
if people don't like the opening bid, they don't have to bid. that's kind of the point of auctions, isn't it? you are free to scroll on by.
FWIW, i think you were right to just ask what you wanted for it instead of hoping it would go as high as you needed it to go.
i hate it when people have reserves. just freakin' be upfront about what you need to get for your item and be done with it.
Ohhh I hope I didn't offend you, I didn't mean to at all, when I said I was surprised that there were two ice stars up, that they weren't rare this week, I didn't mean that in anyway as a slam to you by calling it rare, THEY ARE RARE, I didn't mean it that way at all. The other one that is up is a used one, and the applique is coming off the back it was actually up on e-bay not to long ago.

I seriously think you should re-list it on e-bay, it is a new valuable item and you need the money, you shouldn't have to justify the reasons for selling, or your starting price.

I don't start my auctions that high only because the fees are more when you start them higher, but reserves bug me too, no one also wants to take a loss on something either. You start it at what you want, and don't worry about it at all! (((HUGS))) I didn't mean to hurt your feelings.
