Hi I'm in the monadnock region and am looking for some great places to explore with my husband and 8 month old baby. We are not expert hikers but enjoy a moderate challenge especially when there is something special to be discovered. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hmmm...how about:

Mt. Monadnock, White Cross Trail (probably about 3-4hrs round trip) I'd say it's moderately difficult, starts in Dublin (my favorite hike in southern NH) If you want a really challenging workout sometime, go for the Pumpelly Trail!

Crotched Mtn, easier; near Greenfield

Pack Monadnock, Wapack Trail (another 3-4hr trip); off Rte 101 in Temple, look for sign that says ****** State Park, another moderate hike

Pisgah State Park, Kilburn Loop; this is an easy one, maybe 4 miles?; there is a pond, it's a nice walk; enter from Chesterfield

Chesterfield Gorge is a nice easy walk too...

That should get you started!

We are really close to Monadnock so those hikes might be great. We have done the chesteerfield gorge. I take my DD to swimming lessons at crotched mountain, where would i find the hiking trails?
