Hey everyone! I'm new here and I have a few questions that I hope some of you can help me with. My boyfriend (only 19 years old) was diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer in june 2004. Since then he has completed 4 rounds of chemo, an orchiectomy, and an RPLND (retroperitoneal lymph node dissection). We would like to have children in the future (probably in about 5 years) but due to the RPLND he has a condition called retrograde ejaculation. I read that conception is possible with certain sperm washing techniques and possibly IUI or IVF but I haven't been able to find any specialists that are very experienced with this. Has anyone had an experience with retrograde ejaculation? Also, could someone please update me on what all of the common abbreviations are for this board? I'm so clueless sometimes! hehe... Anyways, thanks for your help ladies!

There's a lot of information on fertilethoughts.com. Also, any website that offers info on IVF should have male infertility info as well.<br><br>
There's a sticky on this board that explains all the abbreviations too.<br><br>

Hi. We are in a similar situation, with my husband undergoing chemo for tonsillar cancer. While researching the issue, I did read something about extraction of sperm from the testilcles (ouch!) without ejaculation. You should contact your local fertility clinic and ask for a consultation. Or do a web search on it...<br><br>
