I just wanted to say hi to everyone. I am pregnant with my third child (Due March 24th), and I really want to bf. I bf my 1st for 3 months with lots of struggles with latch on and tube feeding. Not fun. I eventually gave up. With my second, I had some major issues with jealousy from my first, which made it difficult to bf. This time it only lasted a month, which is too bad because we just clicked. I just couldn't listen to my DD screaming every time. So that brings me to my next child. I really want to make this work. My concerns are jealousy issues with my DS, and of course latch on problems with flat nipples. I am hoping everything will work this time. I just wanted to find some support from others who are going through the same thing, or that are more experienced than I am with bf. Now I just need to wait for the LO to arrive! Thanks for reading...

I'm only on my first babe, so I don't have any experiences to share with you. I just wanted to congratulate you on your pregnancy and offer my encouragement.

You may find that there are ways include your little one in your nursing relationship so he doesn't feel left out when the new babe arrives. Maybe reading books while you nurse the baby or have him "help" you somehow?

Good luck! You can do it!! :

Welcome and congratulations!! I'm so sorry you're worried about this! Do you have a La Leche League in your area? Attending the meetings and connecting with other LLL moms may help you overcome some of the obstacles you faced last time. Good luck to you!!

Welcome to MDC and congrats on your pregnancy!

I so hear you on the jealousy issue. We tried everything but DS1 (almost 2years old) would climb and scream when I would nurse. Then the baby would cry and latch off. So even though I am so anti-tv, I do let him watch age-appropriate tv during nursing. It's the only way I can do it.

I also have flat nipples, I thought I would have to use the shield always, but DS2 surprised me at four months and refused it. We haven't looked back since.

Good lucka nd keep us posted.
