I am going to try to learn to knit soakers- I think I'll get the LTK pattern. I also am getting some gorgeous hand spun hand dyed wool yarn from Uraguay. But I have no idea about needles, etc. I have tried searching the SC forum, but I just can't seem to piece it all together. I'm not up on the lingo and what all the notions are for!!!
So I guess I need to know what I will need to make a soaker. Do I need circular needles, double point, or single point needles, what sizes, etc. I've looked at some of the patterns, but I just don't really get it!
I also need to know what yardages I need for a soaker.
Any help would be great- I can't wait to start!
TIA
Chelsea
For the LTK you need circular needles or double pointed needles if you prefer those. As for size 16 in long is what you will most likely need for a soaker, and it depends on your yarn and the gauge you need for the width of the needle. I would say with regular worsted weight you need a 6 or an 8 usually.
I did check the pattern- I found the needles that I need, but I think the yarn I bought needs a bigger size- so 6 or 8 in 16" is right! Unfortunately it doesn't tell me the yardage I need. I'll find out soon enough! I've already ordered the pattern. Thanks a bunch!
