Hi, I'm a new mom to a two-month old and new to this posting thing. My best friend uses it all the time and I thought I'd give it a try since she's out of town and I can't call her for advice. My baby's diapers have gone from the normal yellow to kind of a more watery green maybe with mucous for the past day and a half and she has been a little more fussy today and slept more than usual and I'm breastfeeding. Any ideas? Is this normal?

Could be a front milk/hind milk imbalance, it could be an allergy/sensitivity to something in your diet, or it could be a little virus.....But green poop is rarely anything to be too worried about

You might want to do a search on www.kellymom.com. It's an awesome breastfeeding site with tons of information.

We had green poop issues too, and for us it was a foremilk/hindmilk imbalance. We solved it by block feeding, which is offering the same breast for several feeds in a row, then switching to the other side and offering that breast for several feedsin a row. For us, a 5-6 hour block did the trick, but you may not have to block feed for that long of a time. Maybe start with a couple of hours on one side and see if that helps. If block feeding doesn't help, I think I'd look into food sensitivities.

Good luck!
