i'm new here, and i am a new mom. i've been reading through the info on this forum for a few weeks now, and have finally decided that i should introduce myself. but i am quite shy and i really don't know what to say!

my daughter is twelve weeks old tomorrow. i thought i knew the only love of my life, until i met her. she is so incredible!

i love being a mummy, but i am one of the first people in my group of friends to have a child, so sometimes i feel terribly anxious and alone.

being able to read what other moms have to say has been practically helpful- but also, it is just comforting to know that you guys are out there.

i'm still working through what, exactly, my parenting philosophy is...

Just wanted to say welcome! I have some roots in Atlanta though I don't live there now. Aside from the grueling downtown traffic, it's a great place!

I have three kids and remember all the parenting stuff being new. I had a sense of where I belonged but didn't know completely for years...it takes that long to learn, to discover things, to accept that something isn't working, etc....just take your time, follow your instincts and read a lot!!!

Best of Luck to you!

Welcome and Congratulations! I live in the Atlanta area also and have a 10 month old daughter. These boards have been very helpful! It can be lonely I admit, I stay home full time and it's hard to find people to get together with that have similar interests! Where in Atlanta do you live? I'm in Duluth.

Thanks, guys, for all of the good wishes

are any of you familiar with koalamommas? i think i might try to make it to one of their meetings on thursday, or maybe next month in decatur, but i've only just heard that they exist and know virtually nothing about what their meetings entail. any thoughts?

bellydance, i live in grant park. so i think we're quite far away from each other! but the koalamomma meeting on thursday is in marietta, which is closer to duluth, is it not? albeit a bit west... i'm very passionate about wearing dd, it's one of my fave pasttimes
so i hope this meeting is fun. mainly, i'd like to try a ring sling out before i buy one (i already have a wrap and a pouch, and with only one baby it is hard to justify buying another sling), and i hear you can do that at the meetings. do you have any experience with ring slings? what is being mom to a ten month old like?

Hi,

I will be new to Atlanta in one week! I have a two-year-old and a four-month-old. I found a really cool website grantparkparents.org... they have age specific play groups.

We are grant park bound. I'm feeling nervous and very excited.

I love wearing my babies too!
