I am a CNM who recently moved to Mexico. I live in a semi-small town with no midwife within an hour. The current c-section rate here is 75%! I was planning to work with other local midwives, but I can't find any. I have a asked around everywhere, including to midwifery schools, local women, midwives who live within a three hours (there are two) and now I have determined that I will start my own practice. The only problem is I need advice! Where do I start? The population would definitely support a midwife (or 5). How do I reach out to hostile OB/GYN's? What does a home birth/private practice need logistically? What was your start-up budget? What about support staff? Any advice would be so very helpful! I am excited and nervous all at once...

Thanks!!!:x
