Just wanted to ask those runners out there if they broke in their new shoes. Last time I got new shoes (they were apparently fast shoes, lightweight) I never retrained in them and my arches starting hurting. i read you have to retrain in new shoes to get your feet used to them. Anyone else retrain in new shoes?
I was going to run short in them today and then switch choes to finish the rest of the miles but ended up running all 14.5miles in new shoes. At around 6miles the top of my feet seemed to ache and my arches ache alittle as well but then it went away and i was able to finish my miles. So I dont know what to do. Should I still run my same miles that I'm used to or retrain and run shorter miles?

Hmmm-I'm really not sure. My dh does shorter TM runs in his new shoes b/c our running store will take them back if they don't feel good after only TM runs. That doesn't really answer your question though, does it?

You should post on the running thread and ask. I'm sure somebody will have good advice for you. It's a fast moving thread, but we love to have new runners join us.
