Thanks to UmmBnB for pointing me to this forum from the childhood years forum

I live in the Denver/Aurora area (unincorporated Arapahoe county -- near Parker Rd. and Florida Ave). Does anyone else live around this area?

I'd love to get together for playdates or somesuch, most likely on Sundays (I work all day on Saturdays ). Or just have someone on here to talk to

I am about to turn 33 (day before Halloween), and my son is about to turn 3 (on Halloween).

Wow..what a great birthday present you got!!! Happy early birthday to both of you

I live in Lakewood. My baby girl is almost 4 months. I don't really get out to any playgroups (been meaning to go to the one at city park, but dd is never seems to be in the mood), but I manage to make it to the LLL meeting the first tuesday of every month at whole foods market on university.

Ooh! Talk about the memories! I don't live in Aurora anymore but I used to drive down Florida Avenue every morning to work and vice versa on my way home.

Hi Amy! We recently moved near Florida and Quebec Way. I think we're close by you. My little guy just turned one on Sept. 30. I've been meaning to get back to the play group on Saturdays, but every weekend just hasn't left me with the time. I don't know if you're by the Highline Canal trail, but if you are and would like to get together for a walk sometime, let me know!

Oh, and Happy Birthday to you and your son!

Yes! You are... I am on the other side of Parker Road but I pass the intersection at Florida and Quebec Way every day (and curse as I do -- no one can ever figure out a 4 way stop ).

I'd love to do possible walks. I need the exercise, that is for sure. Can't do ANY Saturday playgroup stuff, I work every Saturday from 9-6. Sundays are fair game for me though.

Thanks for the birthday wishes...

Amy - I live in Aurora, north of you on 11th near Havana. There is a LLL meeting on Monday mornings and Wed eves near me as well as the Denver one. I usually go Monday -- it's at 10 the third Mon of the month.

My babe is six weeks old, and I'm keeping her outings minimum right now, but I would love to go for a walk with you and whomever when you do! She does better when I'm moving and outside than any other kind of outing these days. In a few weeks, who knows!

Hope you two had happy birthdays!!

Congrats on your new addition! Yes, you're pretty close too.

Hrmmm. I am afraid I would be an outcast at the LLL meetings. My son was FF. It's hard to admit that here on these boards. I would have MUCH rather been able to bf, but I had a breast reduction at 18, and despite all the herbal galactagouges, pumping, etc, I just couldn't produce enough (like my absolute MAX was 3oz a day, avg was about 1oz/day. My kiddo was ~10 lbs at birth and was taking about 3oz PER FEEDING). He also had a tongue tie that prevented a decent latch. We had just a myriad of troubles. We had an LC (who was AWESOME, BTW!!!) and she tried to help as much as possible. I thought about an SNS but he just wouldn't have it, and I just couldn't bring myself to force the issue anymore (he would get SO PISSED, and I was spiralling rapidly into post partum depression -- I did get that treated BTW).

Soooooo, I am one of those horrible FF moms. We did it as close to bf as possible -- lots of skin contact (I was usually shirtless even though it wasn't necessary), same angles, never propped the bottles, switched sides (again even though it wasn't necessary). I wanted to make the most out of it. He's been off bottles since he turned 1. Not by a forced wean, he just wanted to start using cups.

Anyway there's my story about why I would feel weird (and probably very sad) at one of those meetings.

I'd love to exercise though. Maybe we should set up some sort of Sunday afternoon walk. I have no idea what people's schedules are on Sundays. We don't go to church or anything, so we're pretty much free all day.

Hi! I'd LOVE to get together! We just moved here and my kids are starved for friends!
We live in Parker, actually unincorporated Douglas county, off Jordan Road. We are just under the Arapahoe Co line, probably not too far from you.

Let me know if you start a playgroup, or PM me and I will give you my phone number so we can get together!

you are a trooper for trying to BF through all that, don't feel the least bit bad about LLL, your heart is where it should be for your little one, and that's all that counts!

we are usually around on sunday as well, (not doing church much any more...that's a long and wierd story if anyone want's to hear it!) maybe we could get together somewhere in between??? (we are in SW denver)

Hi everyone. I was trying to make the Saturday dates at City Park before, but can't anymore. We live in Congress Park, but happy to meet further away.

I'd love to get in on a walk or whatever folks want. My daughter and I go for walks every day in our area (if anyone is interested and around here). She is 20 months now and likes to walk herself, so our walks are not terribly fast (but I really enjoy them). Doesn't like the stroller, so we may not be the best match-up for folks wanting to go fast (though we do use a sling and/or backpack occasionally). Before lunch on the weekend or later afternoon most any day would work best for us (trying to work around the nap).

Looking forward to a playgroup again.

Hey, TurtleMom, Sophie and I will have to join you on your walk someday. Maybe after Thanksgiving let's try to get together?

Ya, the Saturday City Park thing kind of fizzled out. I know that we, like others, had lots of things that started coming up. I'm often open to things on weekends! Also, I work at the Nature and Science Museum so love to meet for lunch if you are on an outing there during the work week.

Hi. Would love to have company on our walk, Clea. After Thanksgiving sounds like a good time to try.

Also, if anyone else wants to organize a walk somewhere else, we're up for it, depending on schedule.

Hi Maria. Do you still ever have the kids on Fridays? Maybe Friday lunches at the park could be an option for a time to get together. I can PM you some Friday we are open, if that works for you.

Sorry to just be responding to a couple people, I would really also like to meet some more of the moms here, if there is still interest. Maybe after the holidays will work better to start it up.

Hope everyone has a good holiday!
