Heyla all you wonderful mamas and mamas to be!

My confession of the week? I am sitting here wearing "late" maternity pants (also known as Tweedle Dee pants since they look like they were designed for an egg shaped figure). My "early" pregnancy pants still fit, but they're in the wash and I needed something soooooo... of my "late" pregnancy pants 4 are much to big and one is, well, not.

I have an appointment this week and I'm going to see if I can schedule a hospital tour for right after the appointment. The dr's office is in a nearby town (30-40 minutes from dd1s preschool) and she has a field trip that day. So DH is coming with us to the appointment, then he'll leave me there and take dd1 to school, then come back. Which means I'll probably have at least an hour to kill after the appointment is done. The dr's office and the hospital are right next door so I figure if nothing else I'll kill the time in the hospital cafe. But a tour would be nice!

insomnia here too. i just get up and sit in my chair and read this book about how i could be cleaning my house....ha! I am feeling a little stressed bc if i actually spend an entire day cleaning and decluttering, the next day i am so exhausted that i sleep all afternoon!

wombat, i hear you. my maternity shirts are getting too short already and they are extra larges...not really sure where to go from there. also the butt has expanded quite a bit and the pants aren't fitting either.....oh and i got asked for the third time on sat. if i was having twins, from a mom who had twins, because she got "huge" too when she was pregnant. Hmph, maybe it's a third baby thing...

Ditto ditto ditto. Don't sleep great. Can't nap. Hips akillin' me. Allergies are making me totally insane. My chest muscles are sore from so much sneezing and blowing.

For sore hip mamas: I have taken to stretching in the middle of the night. I don't even get out of bed, I just pile two pillows in front of me and fold over criss crossed legs for a few minutes on each side. Then I do a pigeon on each side. And usually, if I can find a way to breathe through the stuffiness, I can go back to sleep. I spend a lot of time everyday stretching out my hips. Why are they so sore?!?! For real, is there anything I can do to lessen the sore feelings?

In non-complaining news: my ds turned 5 this weekend! We had family in town to help us celebrate. Our backyard party was a success and today we do a special birthday meeting at his preschool. Wow. 5. So big.

If only I had the energy to make something from scratch for the preschool event... and, why didn't my family guests at least take their linens off the beds for me?!

I officially dub this "Rest Day" for tired pregnant mamas.

Oh and, I'm wondering, how can y'all tell if the baby is head up or head down? I can't decide if I'm uncomfortable because babe is just growing or because he's standing straight up in there!

I haven't been able to sleep either. I thought it was because my dh has out of town, but last night he was back home
: and I still couldn't sleep.
I also just lay in bed and think of everything I still need to get done.

A random guy asked if I was preg. I told him I was, but then also replied that it was a dangerous question because I could have replied that I just really like cupcakes.
First complete stranger to comment on my growing belly.

I've been obsessing about creating a registry the last couple of days. My sister is most likely throwing us a baby shower when we go back to CA next month. We are doing an online reg. since friends and family are all over the place and we haven't had good luck finding some of the things we want at the typical stores (cloth diapers, ect.). OOps! I take it back. My husband's aunt just called to let me know that Target has cloth diapers. I was just in there- who knew.

Other than that, our little kung-fu fighter has been kicking and punching away!
I love it!

Hope everyone is doing well and can sneak in some napping to make up for lost sleep!

Yup, Target carries cloth dipes, slings, and some organic baby products and toys (like California Baby and Under the Nile). You can find them online and in most (but not all) of their physical stores. However, if your family is getting the cloth dipes, make sure they get the "real" dipes and not just the gerber prefolds. The gerber prefolds make amazing burp cloths but aren't so great for the bottom line in terms of how much they'll hold.

Tired, nesting, insomnia, and wiggly babe here too. With a side of DS2's room is flooded. I'm waiting for the plumber and the water-sucker-out-of-the-carpet guys to show up. Good times!

Well I have gained as much weight here at 25 weeks than I gained in at the end of every pregnancy!I am not to happy, sure 17lbs wasn't a lot to gained with each of my babes but they all came out a good weight,6,6 dd,7,14 ds,7,7 ds 2.all early. So I am freaking out now that I am going to have a ten pounder!!
I don't fit any of my old maternity pants/capris.I don't want to splurge on more as this is 99% the last babe.
No insomnia here but I think all of the pain meds (I am on my third root canal!!!) are helping me sleep.
My brother is coming in from the UK this evening.I haven't seen him in three years and he hasn't even met Oliver. My third child. Also he is bringing so English goodies that I have been craving, none that will help in t he weight gaining or preventing it,ishould say!!
I am starting to nest.My hammock arrived from New zealand and I can't wait to set it up.In fact they accidently sent two and now they have contacted me asking me to schlep the thing to the post office and send it back!!what a pain in the arse!!I will probably get billed twice by customs too
:
That's about it for me,
oh actually,William is off the top of our name list due to the fact that I have met at LEAST 10 since we added it and the last three were all on the friday just past.
So Giacamo for a boy it is

Girls names are not so easy.

I'm having the opposite problem. Only one pair of my maternity pants will stay on, and they are high waters, but I don't even care b/c they are very comfy! My other pair is too large even with a drawstring waist. My shorts fit great, so I wish it would warm up about 20 degrees

I had bronchitis all week last week; it's been awful! I went to the chiropractor this morning b/c the coughing has messed up my back. Arg. I've never been to a chiro before b/c I have a fear of joints popping, but I survived.

We're getting ready to go on our last vacation before the baby comes...very exciting. It's supposed to be a warm weekend, yay!

My OB said to try stretches for the hips. She demonstrated kind of the sitting windmill (that's what they called it back in school). I'll give that a try.

I've grown out of my maternity pants due to expanding hips and thighs, which is why I was shocked to learn that I have only gained 13 pounds so far. It looks like more than that!!! I see my belly and butt, and I demand a recount!

I'm growing more frustrated about the things I can't do anymore. My brother is visiting this weekend, and I was pretty useless helping clean the public areas of our house this weekend. It's still pretty dirty, but I'll take whatever DH can give at this point. He's worked so hard already. I just can't stand that I can't mop the filthy floor. Argh!

On a funny note regarding things I can't do anymore, I asked DH if he could see my underwear when I was getting dressed the other morning. He said yes, with a suspicious tone, wondering where I was going with the inquiry. I said, "Good, because I can't!" It's become a running joke
I know, I'm corny! As long as I can laugh at something pregnancy related, I'm still doing good!

I've tried the lay there and think about everything thing, but my dh snores and if I'm awake and he's snoring away next to me I have a very strong urge to kick him, so now I just get up.

Been a while since I have popped in here on this thread. I run a swimming pool management company- neighborhood HOA run pools. We hire the lifeguards. I have 400 teenagers working for me each summer, that have to be hired and trained by our staff. BUSY BUSY! But very exciting, and it gives me a healthy fear so I am motivated to be as good to my kids as I can.

I am also nesting. I bought ds2 a new bed and dresser so we can set up the crib which ds2 had converted into a bed. While it is silly I felt the need to do it now- since we don't transition there for quite some time- I still wanted it done~ who knows????

I also found some very simple clean lined bedding at pottery barn kids in it's final mark down stages. I love it, clean lines, with a navy border. Many people will probably consider it too simple. That is my theme with this little one....

Had my baby shower this weekend, so my nesting is much more fun now. I pack, re-pack, sort, and touch all this stuff over and over again. I was also late for something semi-important because cleaning the kitchen cupboard doors became VERY important. Weird.

But at least the kitchen was clean for a day or so!

We've started selling furniture on Craigslist, which is also helping the nesting. Making me feel like I'm one step closer to have a home for my baby.

I reach a point every night of wanted to get to sleep before the heartburn gets bad, but wanting to stay out of bed because I know I'm going to ache all night. I thought the second trimester was just SOOOO wonderful? If this kid wasn't kickin' I'd be one angry mama!

Amen to the official rest day. Now I can let go of my guilt for having gotten NO studying/homework done today even though I realized I missed something last week that I just didn't even notice. I am so going to fail at least one class and have to put off graduating. Bah humbug.

I got some amazing baby blankets at my shower, I'll be taking and posting pics on my blog tomorrow. So exciting!

I am feeling so much energy lately since the weather is warming up (it takes a while here in VT).
I get so excited to see all the local farm stands open up!

I was just invited to a whole field day with herbalist Rosemary Gladstar, but it is the same day as my midwife appointment. I am going to reschedule because it is a one time chance to be with R.G. all day!

My vaginal hemorrhoids are finally under control. I hear they get worse with each pregnancy, and I plan on having more kids. Yikes!

Two nights ago this really panicky feeling came over me as I realized that I'm almost 24 weeks and I haven't done really all that much to prepare for this birth besides passively read. Is that nesting...or just panic?
Probably a little of both....I'm also making all these plans to rearrange different parts of our house, including switching ds's closet with the bigger guest room one, so that I can fit both his and LO's clothes in there(but that's going to entail clearing out a whole bunch of junk from the bottom of the closet
). He doesn't use his room anyway. And I still want to paint my room to make it more soothing for the birth, but I don't know if that's going to happen unless I manage to squeeze it in in June. Sigh. Time is going by so fast!

I also have sooo many girl clothes to sort through! I found someone on another board, and she traded me all of her girl clothes from her two year old, for all of ds's clothes that don't fit anymore. Plus I have a bunch of clothes from my neighbor with the two girls, AND a friend of a friend is sending some clothes down from MN.
: I'm drowning in girly clothes!!

So yeah, my head is swimming with all the things I have to do. For now, off to do hypnobabies. I've had it for two weeks and it's been virtually untouched. No more!!

I haven't done much of anything to prepare besides buying a sit n' stand stroller at a mom2mom sale this past weekend! I really like the Joovy's, but I got this one for $50 and it rides really smoothly.

I feel sort of silly, but I already feel huge and awkward and we're not even to the 3rd trimester yet! What's up with that??? Hemorrhoids started early. Heartburn started early.

Then my 2 year old was up all night, sleeping in 30 min. spurts and screaming "Mommy!!!! Moooooommmmmyyyyy!!! while sobbing hysterically for the whole rest of the night. At one time I tried to lay him down (he was soundly sleeping on my shoulder) and he immediately awoke and clung to me with all 20 fingers and toes... It was pitiful. I think he just fell asleep for his nap, though. Hopefully it's a good one! Don't know what was up with last night but I hope we don't get any repeats!

And what's up with not finding any jeans that will stay up??? I seriously looked at men's suspenders at Kohl's today but didn't want to spend $20. I've got a good snap press - maybe I'll put snaps on all my pants that fall down, and make some comfy suspenders I can snap on and switch between pants...hmm....

The only thing I have EVER seen at Target is California Baby. None of the rest, and I lived in a pretty crunchy area (Santa Rosa, CA). Now, living in Sacramento, there is nothing 'natural' hardly at all in my Targets. Yes, more than one! I so miss living where I used to. We had so many natural stores to choose from.

I wasn't sleeping well for weeks and I was having problems that I thought *might* be related to bipolar...saw the p-doc and got some medicine. It's ultra safe for pregnancy and holy cow it worked. I'm sleeping again! Well you know, bad pregnancy sleep that gets interrupted by needing to change positions or pee, but it's much better than only getting 1-2 hours, being up for 2 hours, getting another hour, rinse and repeat all night long.

My sciatica still sucks. Going to the chiro again this week.

My youngest had her MRI for her seizures yesterday. They had to put her under because she's only 3 and that's the only way they can do the test at this age (you have to be dead still). I was so worried but she was a trouper and came through it just fine. She sees the neurologist today and has another EEG tomorrow. We also have to drive way far into Sacramento today to pick up some food. Meh. It's going to be a busy day (and it's supposed to be 94). I'd rather stay home in my air conditioned house and lay on the sofa

My oldest hasn't had too many meltdowns lately, but who knows if that will stick or not.

Oh, and I have also grown out of my maternity pants. I think I said that last week but it's true. I already need new underwear (again!). For someone who hasn't gained much weight I am getting H-U-G-E. I also desperately need to buy a maternity bathing suit.

My maternity jeans fall down too. They are the motherhood secret belly kind. I don't get why they do that but it is really annoying.

Oh, also. I cannot find a haircutter here that I am happy with and I miss my old GENIUS hairdresser that always gave me the perfect short pixie cut...so I'm driving all the way home to get my hair done. My husband thinks I am crazy but hey, we haven't been down in like five months and I'd like to see my friends.
