Hi All,

I just came across this forum and wow! What a great resource for support, ideas and encouragement. My daughter (just turned 4) started pre-K at our local Waldorf school this past fall and we love how it has been a natural extension of how we raise our children (I also have a 1 yr old son). We have decided to send both children there for the long run, finances permitting.

My question is about playstands - any recommendations? I really like the one from Willow Toys. Any feedback on that one in particular would be wonderful!

I have some being built right now that are the same design as Willow Toys (I liked that design too!), but he's also making connectors for me at the top of the arches to add a little more stability for my 2 year old DS. He's not charging extra and the wood he uses is amazing reclaimed barn wood! The price with shipping comes to almost exactly what the Willow Toys arches are.

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php...ng_id=21438664

I'm really excited since I've spent a year shopping around for just the right ones! I'll post lots of pics of course.

We have the ones made by Camden Rose. I love the look of various kinds of cherry and walnut that are used, but the biggest selling point for me is the removable shelves which can change the configuration many different ways or even make it easier to store should you need to put them away for a bit.

I justified the price by thinking that these would be lovely storage shelves/bookcases when the kids are too old for them (weep!)

1st off.. WELCOME!!! welcome to our little corner of mothering

we have the willow ones and LOVE them. we got a deal and got them as 2nds on ebay, keep a lookout,he posts them there whenever he has goof ups. you can't tell they are 2nds.. i still don't know what the flaws are! PLUS he has a lifetime warranty on all his products which really comes in handy. one of my canopies broke back in december due to my cat jumping on it and he sent me what i needed to repair it for free. i didn't even have to pay shipping. we have a kitchen by them too. i can't say enough good things about willow!! : :

Ours each have two shelves and I've found that really useful.

Aesthetically I also like the ones that have the pretty flat beam across the top instead of the round dowel, but either works.

I wasn't even willing to consider stands without 2 shelves. Vertical storage is vital in my house!!

In a year or so I plan to buy one of the Camden Rose playstands, but I'm getting it from Nova Naturals b/c they seem to be the only store selling them w/ two shelves per stand. They also have them cheaper than Palumba. I am putting the stand (w/ arch) in our sunroom (v small room) so I only need one ~ gives me a little more leeway w/ the price. Honestly, though, it was the beautiful colored wood and movable shelves that drew me to CR's design. I cannot wait to see that room all set up as a little playroom, it will be soooooooo adorable!!!!!!!!!!

ps, I agree that this forum is v welcoming and full of awesome toy & home ideas!!!!
