Do inserts and doublers need to be washed more than once before use? Does it make a difference if it is hemp doublers or microfiber towels on how they should be washed before using them?

Another question about inserts and doublers....

Do I need them for a newborn? We are going to be using PF with covers for the first few weeks until we feel more comfortable with CD'ing and to save money. i know I can use liners to help baby feel drier and I don't need inserts for PF w/covers but what about doublers?

Thanks!

As for will you need doublers for newborns I think overall no newborns just go through tons of diapers its just what they do . However some newborns are super pees all that mamma milk I think a few doublers might not be a bad idea to have. I think that doublers are kind of a waste in the newborn stage because they poo so much and are never in a dipe for long anyway! Maybe after 2 months. I boil my new hemp stuff because it takes so many washes for them to be ready and I always have just a few things. You can't really prep them with other things....
