I was wondering if anyone had any info on probiotic supplements for newborns. My mw said that she had heard of one. I am on an antibiotic right now and am taking probiotics myself, but don't know how much is actually making it to my lil one. He has a yeast-looking rash on his bum and now also his arms, armpits, neck (which I'm treating with a neem salve and slippery elm powder). I still have 6 days left of the antibiotics and I'm afraid of the yeast getting out of control.

any other suggestions would be great too.

thanks!

Read the Healing the Gut Cheat Sheet (stickied under health and healing) for info on infant gut flora.
Aside from taking a probiotic you can also eat tons of homemade yogurt, kefir and fermented veggies. And your babe needs one with bifidus infantis. Natren Lifestarts has one that people like. Solaray Babylife has a dairy free one. I would get on the ball with this as soon as possible. Gut flora is very, very important.
