Newborn Stash?

We didn't start CDing w/#1 until he was about 2 months old. Would any of you be kind enough to tell me if this will be enough dipes for a newborn/small stash, or if I need to beef it up a little? And if so, what would you recommend beefing it up with? I'm ok with doing laundry every other day or so.

(My first was over 8 lbs at birth, am not expecting a peanut this time either, FWIW.)

TO me that sounds just fine. You may want to save a little $$ to beef it up after the babe comes just in case you find the babes needs are greater than what you have. You just NEVER know. Congratulations on the new little blessing.

i actually just pmd a member about a few small FBs, which is making me feel a little better.

i keep looking at the list thinking it's not quite enough...hoping this will help a little.

and if he needs a little more after his arrival, that's fine--we can add more then, too.

For the newborn period, I recommend the bare minimum of 30 diapers -- whichever type you are using. I had 24 size 0 kissaluvs and i was having to wash almost every day. It wasn't enough.

I think you look pretty good. At the newborn stage, I had 24 prefolds and that was enough to wash every other day (We actually started with 12 LL with prefolds for the extra change for each cover but they did not work for us, switched to BSWW and bought the second dozen prefolds). I have now added 5 fitted diapers and wool covers for night time and 1 pocket diaper. My ds is 4 months old. I like that you have variety to see what you like and not overdone it so that if you find certain things not working for your baby, there is still some room left in the budget to adjust. Good job!
