Hi everyone-

I have been lurking for a while. I have decided to cd my 10 week old DS. I also have a 3 year old DD. I was so excited to start cding and I looked and looked around at the tons of websites (its mindboggling really!!!) and I lurked here and I talked to the cding mom's I know from my DD playgroup and LLL. So I decided to order. I placed two orders. Both from WAHMs. One order came with substitutions, not my favorite, but I can live with that...
The other order was for a large sample pack. Some of the diapers didn't come in the package, some were not the size I ordered. Needless to say I was very sad. I was SO looking forward to my fluffy mail (see I am learning the lingo already! hehehe) I almost cried.

It wouldnt have been so bad except there was not even a packing slip, or email saying whether these items were on backorder or even if they were just forgotten. And then to get the wrong size in other items I ordered. Just so disappointing! I emailed the WAHM and I hope to hear from her. I was really nice in the letter, and I am not too concerned about getting the items, I know I will eventually, I am just SO tired of using DDS!!

I am just sad because I want to start washing these ubcpf and other items and I am not sure if I will have to send the whole package back or not!

Uuughhh....help me! I just want to start cding so bad.

I do have some of the walmart towels and 2 bummis SIWW and I have been using those. But I only have the two covers, and DS seems to get poop on both of them in just a few hours

If you've read this far you are a saint, thanks for letting me vent. If anyone has any advice, I am so happy to hear. I look forward to learning so much about cding here.

Michelle, mom to Madison (3) and Tye (10 weeks)

I'm so sorry you are not getting good customer service. I do have to say though...with the exception of 1 order (among too many to count) I always get exactly what I ordered and quick and friendly e-mails if something is wrong. Always check out feedback on www.diaperpin.com before ordering from a place you are not familiar with. Hope things get better for you soon!

P.S. I pm'd you

Michelle! Your experiences do not seem normal, so don't worry-- they should be your last bad ones from now on. I do think that there seems to be a rise in bad experiences (not just WAHMs, but customers, trades, etc.). However, I think the majority of transactions are excellent if you do a little research. Even then, things can go wrong, but the WAHMs with high standards will go out of their way to make everything right.

I agree with looking on Diaperpin, and I can also send you a link to a Yahoo group that does reviews (just PM me). I'd also be happy to tell you who I buy from w/o problems.

Hang in there. Once you can actually start diapering you'll feel so much better. Don't let someones poor business behavior ruin your experience.

Best of diapering to you.

Sorry your first packages came wrong

I would get in contact with the wahm you got them from and tell them..

I also think you should have been told if you were getting a sub for something your ordered...

Being a wahm I do know we make mistakes sometimes but, most a quick to fix them..

Best of luck,
Liz

That is awful! But I am glad to hear that you are still CD and not giving it up because of a bad experience. I also agree with everyone else above. You should contact the WAHM, I can't imagine them not doing everything they could to straighten out the situation.

I hope you have a better fluffy mail in the future.

I'd venture a guess that if the package came with all the wrong size diapers, that you might have gotten someone else's package by accident. I know a few times when I've shipped out a LOT of pacakges at one time, once or twice I've inadvertantly put the wrong label on a package, so mama A really got Mama B's package, etc. Anyway, I'm sure that the WAHM will make good on it!! And I'll bet that 6 months from now you'll look back and laugh at this, when you're getting great fluffy mail all the time and have tons of cute dipes

that STINKS!! how FRUSTRATING!

I know I look forward to getting packages and starting on a new adventure ... and to be thwarted in your attempts like that.. I know I would be annoyed too.

I have to add that your experience is not typical, as far as I know. Be sure to let us know when you get it all worked out. And, use the Diapering Review forum at the top of the page to share your experiences and to find out the experiences of others.

welcome!!

Hi everyone-

Thanks so much for your replies. I have read some reviews on Diaper Pin. I have found so many different opinions on the same product and place though.

Good news! I have heard back from the WAHM and she is sending out a new package on Monday and is sending everything I need to send back the wrong diapers. Yipee! I can get started washing these prefolds! I feel so much better now.

Ok, stupid question time (I have a feeling I will be asking a lot of these) a fleece liner goes inside the prefold (or fitted, I think I understand how to use it on a fitted) like a soaker? Right now my DS is only 10 weeks so I doubt I'll need a soaker or extra absorbancy except for nighttime, but for future reference, exactly how do you use the liner? Its to keep the poop off the diaper or for softness or both?

Thanks again everyone, I am so excited to start cding!

Michelle

What does the liner look like? Is it just micro fleece? If so it just lays inside the diaper they seem to work best with fitteds.
Liners are used for both to keep poop off, softness AND it also keeps wetness away from your child.

Thanks so much!

Micro fleece is thin.... like 1 layer of velour thin... if it is thick like a blanket type it is a thicker weight..
Both are fleece just different weights..

You should do a search for fleece liners and come up with more info than you ever wanted!

I don't think you'd be able to tell the difference b/n fleeces unless you have two different ones to compare. Micro is thin and not as fluffy as polar fleece you find all over the fabric store--although sometimes they carry microfleece! It's so hard to tell the difference in all the different kinds unless you have fabric swatches to feel for yourself.

Love the fleece liners! They keep ds dry and make poopies a breeze to deal with. If I need to soak a dipe, I can just lay the liner in, instead of a thick dipe. Very simple. Plus fleece is just so cozy--I think they need to come up with fleece undies for mamas!!

Have fun!!
