It also contends that despite the stubborness of the state on the issue, circumcision rates are still falling in Utah, albeit at a slower rate than the rest of the country!

Anytime they say several times that the rates are dropping, and parents are refusing it... that has to be a good thing. Someone who is on the fence might read that and feel more confident about choosing not to.

To me, the article made it seem that parents have some weird attachment to circ in Utah and it doesn't sound like a place I'd want to live! Sorry to all the intactivists in Utah! I'm spoiled living in CA!!

Thanks!<br><br>
The one intactivist they did manage to quote in the article sounds goofy when he's talking about infections.

Yes because those sexually active infants are at a high risk...

There are a million reasons that living in Utah is wonderful, but it's OK if no more people flock here from California! <img alt="" class="inlineimg" src="http://www.mothering.com/discussions/images/smilies/winky.gif" style="border:0px solid;" title="Wink"><br><br>
Circ rates ARE falling here, and are already lower than the midwest, but there is a fairly unenlightened medical community (as evidenced by the article) and a lot of people depend on their doctors for guidance. Intactivists in Utah are working to get the word out!
